Oh, lit. That's when you at the club and we popping bottles, baby! We get all way lit, we going live, sham.
Hello, and welcome to the Sozo Exchange Vocabulary Challenge. My name is Christina, and I'm your host. We are in the lovely Marina del Rey right now, shooting in 360-degree format. Today we are going to be asking some people to explain the meaning of the phrase "lit."
嗨，歡迎來到 Sozo Exchange 的單字大挑戰。我的名字叫 Christina，我是今天的主持人。我們現在位於景色優美的瑪麗安德爾灣，用 360 度全景影片模式進行拍攝進行拍攝。今天，我們要訪問一些人對於「lit」這個字的解釋。
What is your definition of the word "lit"?
See, I don't know if it's—I feel like it's probably the same in Britain and here, but I feel like "lit" is just "cool."
Uh-huh. Just "cool"?
If it's "lit," it's like you wanna—like, if it's a nightclub, you wanna go there if it's lit. Or...yeah, just "cool." I kinda hope that's what it means because that's what it means in Britain, so I'm hoping it means the same here.
What is your definition of "lit"?
Um...something that's really cool or exciting and awesome.
Okay, what—can you place it in a sentence for me?
"That party was really lit last night."
That's the most... That's, like, the most used way. Like, if a party's lit, that's, like, it's really, like, cool. It's really, like, there's a lot of people there.
What is your interpretation of the word "lit"?
I hate that word so much, okay. Almost like "beasting out," um..."Getting lit tonight." Like, going crazy, going off partying, drinking. "Man, it's lit." Like, it's just on fire, maybe.
Okay, so it's also in, like, a party context?
Yeah, yeah. What I've been around and heard people who say it.
Okay. What is the stupidest sentence or phrase you've heard using that word?
What makes you—why are you so irritated by it?
Man, my ex-boyfriend would just always, every single Snapchat, "Getting lit!" "Going out with the boys, getting lit!" And it's not attractive at all.
喔，我的前男友每次都會，發 snapchat 就一直「準備嗨一波!」「跟我兄弟們出去嗨一波!」真的很沒有魅力。
Okay, thank you very much for participating today.
