The key to a beautifully wrapped gift is starting with a piece of paper that's just the right size. This piece of paper is already pre-cut to size, but you wanna make sure that your paper comes up a little over halfway on the sides and wraps all the way around with about an inch overlap.
The first thing I'm gonna do is take some double-stick tape and secure this edge... I'm gonna take a really long piece of double-stick tape and position that exactly along the furthermost edge of the paper. So I'm gonna flip it around. And you can see now that this edge is matching up right along with the edge of our gift. It's using this seam right here and matching it with the vertical edge of the gift, and that helps form this nice crease right here. So we get one crease, and then kind of hold this in position...smooth it out...and make your second crease.
Now that I have all my creases in the perfect spot, I'm gonna start to apply the tape. And again, I'm gonna use really long pieces of tape because that helps secure the edge and make sure that we have a nice tailored-looking edge on our gift! All right! So now that my tape is in place, I'm gonna fold it up...and have a great-looking corner. So, like we did on the other side, match the seam with the edge, the vertical edge of the gift. And now matching it up... And the other side...
And because this box is a rectangle, we have this kind of funny overlap. So what I like to do is mark a little hash line right where these folds intersect. And that way, I can know exactly where I need to fold down. And now...you press it up! So there you go! That is the key to a beautifully tailored polka-dot gift wrap.
