So, check it out! This is my favorite bag in the whole wide world. I bought it in Japan about eight years ago. I desperately needed a bag. And at the time, I found this in a local shop for a very low price at 500 yen, which is next to nothing, basically. It's my favorite thing in the world, but unfortunately, because it's eight years old, it's got some signs of wear and tear. Can you see, here? And here, mostly.

Now, I'm a pretty fantastic person, because my mom calls me every morning and says, "Dan, you're fantastic." But fixing a bag is not something that I can do by myself, and so I'm gonna have to take it to a shop and have it repaired. Observe.
我是一個滿傑出的人，因為我媽每天早上都會打給我說：「Dan，你好棒。」不過修補背包不是件我有辦法自己做的事，所以我得把背包拿到店裡去修。注意看。
"I need to have my bag repaired." This means I'm gonna pay somebody to do this for me. This is called the causative. The formula is "have plus the object plus the past participle." See? "I need to have my bag repaired."
「我得去修我的包包。」這代表我要付錢請某個人替我做這件事。這被稱為「使役動詞」。公式是「have + 受詞 + 過去分詞」。看懂了嗎？「我得去修我的包包。」
What's really cool about the causative is that you can use it in negatives and questions, and you can use it in any tense, as long as you change the "have" verb. Remember that. Let me show you some examples:
使役動詞很酷的地方是，你可以把它用在否定句和問句，你可以用在任何一種時態，只要你把動詞 have 改掉就行了。記住那點喔。我來帶你們看一些例句：
"I've just had my house decorated." Present perfect.
