Hey, everyone! Chef Jason Hill here and I'm kicking off summer—and that means barbecue, and barbecue means barbecue sauce! And I've got a homemade recipe I'm gonna show you right now.
嘿大家!我是主廚 Jason Hill，我要來開啟夏日時光－－那就代表烤肉，而烤肉就是烤肉醬的意思!我現在有一份自製食譜要教你們。
Okay, I've got my sauce pot here with a cup of ketchup. To that we're gonna add a quarter cup of cider vinegar, quarter cup of water, quarter cup of light-brown packed sugar, and we got two tablespoons of...molasses. You're gonna need to use a spatula to get that out. Followed by a tablespoon of Worcestershire sauce, and then a tablespoon of chili powder and a teaspoon of ground cumin, tablespoon of paprika. And then...half-teaspoon of ground cloves and a teaspoon of turmeric. And yeah, you can't forget—I'm gonna do a half a tablespoon of my garlic shallot puree. Get in there. Okay, mix this up first.
Okay, let's turn the stove burner on to good medium-high heat. And you're gonna stand here and stir this until it starts to simmer. Okay, we're gonna continue to cook this down till it thickens up for about 30 minutes. And you wanna make sure you're stirring it occasionally; you don't wanna walk away from this completely and burn your barbecue sauce.
Okay, after about a half an hour, it's cooked down to the consistency I want. And I'll show you that here. You can see how it kinda coats the pan there. Finally, all we're gonna do is hit it with some fresh, cracked pepper, maybe, like, a good teaspoon. Stir that in there. From the heavens! And let's give it a taste! Mmm...! Tangy, sweet—just what a barbecue sauce should be!
Thanks for tubing in.
